The Lake County Library System will host the 5th annual Trash to Fashion Show Contest on Saturday, October 18, in the meeting room at W. T. Bland Public Library in Mount Dora starting at 10:30 a.m. This spectacular fashion extravaganza featuring outfits designed using recycled materials invites young people ages 8 to 19 to think outside the recycle bin and design a piece of wearable art based on the creative use of "trash" -- found, salvaged, scavenged, and repurposed materials. Entry to the show is free and contestants have a chance to win prizes provided by our sponsor, Insight Credit Union. First place designs win $100, second place designs win $50 and third place designs win $25.
To participate, pick up an entry form at any of the 15 public libraries in the Lake County Library System. The form is available for download from the Library System website. Fill out and submit via email to email@example.com or drop off at any Lake County Library System library. It can also be mailed to: Linda Goff, Youth Services Coordinator, Lake County Library Services, 2401 Woodlea Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
