9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The annual winter book sale is sponsored by the Friends of Cooper Memorial Library. They have been busy collecting books and all have been sorted and are in good condition. The books include general fiction, romance, mystery, science fiction and biography. On sale also are all kinds of non-fiction including history, economics, religion, child-rearing, psychology, cook books and lots of how-to-do-it books. There is also a large collection of CDs, books-on-tape, DVDs, videos, and jigsaw puzzles. Included in both fiction and non-fiction works is a wide selection of large print books. The prices range from 10 cents to one dollar with a few classics going for more. Leftover books will be sold at the library during operating hours the following week at reduced prices. All money earned will be spent at the library. The Friends provide funds for many of the special programs for children, teens, and adults including the Veterans History Project and the Festival of Reading in the spring. For those interested in children's books, come early, since they usually sell out fast.
