Dreams and Nightmares

March 12 - 14, 2015

The Lake County Library System’s 12th annual Lake BookFest, will feature authors of fantasy and science fiction and related genres. In fantasy, events occur outside the ordinary laws that operate within the universe and often, magic is central.  It can open up new possibilities and it offers a new perspective on the "real" world. 

Short Story Contest

Writers One Flight Up is sponsoring a short story contest as part of the 2015 BookFest. Winners will receive a private 15 minute session with Agent Lucienne Diver from the Knight Agency and Random House author Amy Christine Parker, and be featured at a public reading on March 14 at the W. T. Bland Public Library. The authors will also be recognized at the BookFest Authors’ Reception on Friday, March 13, 2015.

Short stories must be 2500 words or less in the genres of fantasy,science fiction, urban fantasy, paranormal, or romantic fantasy. Winning stories will be published in a downloadable, compilation book on the Lake County Library System website www.mylakelibrary.org. The deadline for entry is February 13, 2015.
