Astor County Library Adult Programs
- A basic knitting class will be offered on Saturday, August 23rd, from 10:00-12:00. Kim Federline will be teaching. Participants will learn how to knit a dishcloth or a scarf, depending on the student's preference. Call the library to pre-register and find out what materials are needed for this class.

Frankie Beville from the American Red Cross will be presenting a program on Hurricane Preparedness on Wednesday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. He will talk about getting a kit read, making a plan, and being informed.
- Chicken University,
presented by Megan Brew, Lake County Livestock and Natural Resources agent, will be taught on Thursday, August 28th, starting at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Brew will provide the small scale chicken owner with information on biology, nutrition and reproduction. Learn about getting started, housing chickens, processing eggs, choosing the right breed, designing the backyard coop and more.
