Born and raised in Virginia, Kathryn Ascher tried her hand at poetry and fiction in high school, but put it all aside when she went to college. After graduating from Virginia Tech with her degree in communications, she married her college sweetheart and went to work for a local radio station. After her first child was born, she became a stay-at-home mom and began spending her free time crafting and reading.
It wasn’t until after the birth of her third child and a blind book exchange that Kathryn decided to give writing another try. Blair Bancroft’s writing and the Internet began the same year—1991, the year of the first Gulf War. Alas, the Internet has become considerably more famous and influential, but she can claim a Golden Heart win, a Golden Heart nomination, and a RITA final from the Romance Writers of America, a Best Regency award from Romantic Times, a Best Romance award from the Florida Writers’ Association, and two nominations for an EPPIE, sponsored by the Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition.
After nine published print books and eight books presented by major e-publishers, Blair plunged into indie publishing in the winter of 2011, uploading a good deal of her backlist and beginning to add new titles in 2012. She has been a strong advocate of online publishing (as long as it’s done with professionalism) since her first e-book came out in 1999 and an enthusiastic proponent for the freedom of Do It Yourself. Blair currently has twenty-seven full-length books and four novellas available online, and considers hand-held e-readers one of the great boons to mankind—thank you very much, Gene Roddenberry (creator of Star Trek.).
Blair also writes a weekly blog featuring Writing and Editing information - please see Grace's Mosaic Moments at http://mosaicmoments.blogspot.com. Blair is an "out of the mist" writer and her favorite comment about her own writing is that each morning she can hardly wait to get to the computer and find out what is going to happen to her characters today. www.blairbancroft.com/

Sandra majored in in Radio/TV/Film minored in drama at the University of Miami . For three of her four years in college she acted in thirty-minute radio dramas almost on a weekly basis. Inevitably these live broadcasts of Theater X were love stories in which she played the heroine. Usually, the tragic heroine. Romance and fantasy became her fate.
Sandra had a short-lived career as a broadcast journalist and then a broadcast copy/promotional writer in the Miami and Los Angeles markets. Her most rewarding work was as a writer/producer/host for a Miami PBS station. During this time she met many inspiring women who shared their stories, women whose remarkable achievements, great spirits and strength influenced her work.
First, Sandra became a published poet. As with most writers, her first historical novels were written in the evenings after the day job. Years after the fact, she married Dave Madden, a retired actor best known for his role as Reuben Kincaid on The Partridge Family television series. Not long after being published she discovered that a writer’s life is not all about the voices in your head demanding release to a page. A writer’s life includes thundering deadlines, dry spells, assorted blocks, carpel tunnel syndrome and frozen shoulders. Occasionally, the green-eyed monster rears her head and wraps grown women in knots. But most of all, writing romance is a wonderful love story in itself. www.sandramadden.com/
