Lake County Library System is honored to present Mel Bartholomew, the creator of the Square Foot Gardening System in FREE sessions. The first will be held on Wednesday, February 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the Lady Lake Public Library and the second on Thursday, February 9th at 7 p.m. in the Cooper Memorial Library. This simple system adapts to all levels of experience, physical abilities, and geographical locations. Grow all you want and need in only 20% of the space of a conventional row garden. Save time, water, work and money! Registration is not required.

You can become certified by coming to our 3 day Regional Training Symposium, to be held Wednesday, February 8th, and Thursday, February 9th from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. and Friday, February 10th, from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. at the Lake County Extension Office, Horticultural learning Center, 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares, FL 32778. You will learn hands on from our certified teachers. These classes are NOT designed to teach you Square Foot Gardening, they are more advanced classes tailored to teach you how to teach others of the method.
The Square Foot Gardening Foundation is a Non-profit 501(c)(3) Entity whose purpose is to end World Hunger by reaching out to Families and teaching them how to grow healthy food for their daily meals, thus improving their diets and getting the family interactive with each other. The Foundation teaches the All New Square Foot Gardening method created by Founder, Mel Bartholomew, which uses less resources and requires very little work, yet produces a crop equal to a single row garden 5x its size.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will become certified in Square Foot Gardening and officially endorsed by the SFG Foundation.
