Author Michael Wiley to appear in Paisley

Award winning author Michael Wiley will appear on Tuesday, February 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the Paisley County Library. Michael Wiley is the author of A Bad Night’s Sleep, The Bad Kitty Lounge, and the Shamus-nominated, award-winning Last Striptease (St. Martin’s Press). He is writing a fourth novel in the series, which features Chicago Detective Joe Kozmarski, as well as a stand-alone mystery, which is set in the wetlands of northern Florida.

Michael grew up in Chicago and has lived and worked in the neighborhoods and on the streets where he sets his Kozmarski mysteries. He now teaches literature at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. As part of this other life, he has published books on Romantic Geography (Macmillan-St. Martin’s Press) and Romantic Migrations (Palgrave Macmillan). No one shot at him when he was writing either of them.

“Fans of gritty PI novels will relish Shamus-finalist Wiley's third mystery featuring Chicago detective Joe Kozmarski. Kozmarski, a well-developed flawed hero, would be right at home in a Chandler or Hammett novel. The relentless pacing makes the pages fly by, and the hard-edged prose is bracing.” – Publishers Weekly (starred revew)

A Bad Night’s Sleep is “Fast, furious and fun. Readers who like them hard-boiled will love this 22-minute egg.” – Kirkus Reviews
