Trash to Fashion Deadline Extended

Don’t miss the opportunity to enter the popular Trash to Fashion Contest! The deadline for entries has been extended to Friday, October 12th, 2012! Trash to Fashion is an arts and cultural experience that now spans ages 8 to 19. This fashion extravaganza featuring original outfits and accessories created from "trash" will be judged on Saturday, October 20th beginning at 11 a.m. at the Leesburg Public Library.

The trash fashions provide charming environmental messages in a show that is both fun and purposeful. Entry to the show is free. The event will include live music by The RecycleManiacs of Leesburg, refreshments and unique fashions. Best-selling author Lucienne Diver will return for the third year to emcee the show. Lucienne is the author of the popular Vamped series of young adult novels.

Prizes, donated by the Friends of the Leesburg Public Library will include $100 gift cards for First Prize in both categories; $50 for Second and $25 for Third. Additional prizes will be awarded from our sponsors Tammy Watson from Mary Kay Cosmetics, Lake-Sumter Community College Foundation, Crispers of Eustis, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida and Delia’s Boutique in downtown Leesburg.

Pick up an entry form at any one of the 15 public libraries in the Lake County Library System or download the form from our website .
