Lake County invites residents to donate toys this holiday season

TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is heading-up an effort to help families in Lake County have a happy holiday season by assisting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve with sponsoring a local Toys For Tots collection event.

The County is asking the community to assist by dropping off new, unwrapped toys at one of the following distribution locations, on or before Thursday, Dec. 20:

  • Astor Library, 54905 Alco Road, Astor
  • Beverly Shores Elementary, 1108 W. Griffin Road, Leesburg
  • Cagan Crossings Community Library, 16729 Cagan Oaks, Clermont
  • Carver Middle School, 1200 N. Beecher St., Leesburg
  • Clermont Middle School, 301 East Ave., Clermont
  • Cooper Memorial Library, 2525 Oakley Seaver Drive, Clermont
  • East Lake County Library, 31340 S. County Road 437, Sorrento
  • Helen Lehmann Memorial Library, 17435 5th St., Montverde
  • Judicial Center, 550 W. Main St., Tavares
  • Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares
  • Lake County Agricultural Extension, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares
  • Lake County Library Services, 2401 Woodlea Road, Tavares
  • Lake County Solid Waste, 13130 Astatula Landfill Road, Tavares

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
