On Saturday, April 20, the W. T Bland Public Library will formally dedicate The Nunan Butterfly Garden. There are several activities so you can choose how you wish to participate:
• At 10:00am there will be cake and coffee in our new Community Room
• 10:30am, a talk on butterflies and butterfly habitats by Wendy Poag, Lake County Parks and Trails Naturalist/Land Steward.
• 11:45 Garden dedication and butterfly release
• Noon – butterfly craft program & refreshments for children
Make sure you bring your camera, as there will be a photo “op” with our new butterfly bench created by Metal Magic Creations (of Lake County) and underwritten by the Mount Dora Library Association. The butterfly garden was a 2012 Eagle Scout project created by Nicholas Ignao and installed by Boy Scout Troop 19.
Major funding for the butterfly garden is provided by the Mount Dora Library Association with additional support by the Lakes & Hills Garden Club and the Garden Club of Mount Dora. The butterfly garden is dedicated to Ruth and Richard Nunan for their support of our Library over the years. Ms. Ruth as she was known was a dedicated volunteer of the Library for many years.
The Nunan Butterfly Garden Dedication and Butterfly Release will be held at the W. T. Bland Public Library located at 1995 N. Donnelly Street in Mount Dora. All Library programs are free and open to the public. For additional information, call (352) 735-7180 option 5.
