Declaration Day Celebration

The East Lake County Library is hosting a reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8th, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. This special community event will commemorate the 238th anniversary of the first public reading of the nation's most treasured symbol of liberty.

Guest readers will include Cindy Brown from Congressman Daniel Webster's office; State Senator Alan Hays; State Representative Brian Nelson; Lake County Commissioner Leslie Campione; Lake County Sheriff Gary Borders; Barbara Tenney, President of the East Lake Historical Society; and Bob Curry, Friends of the East Lake County Library.

Also present will be members of the Sons of the Revolution and the Daughters of the Revolution. This event is sponsored by the East Lake County Chamber of Commerce, East Lake Historical Society and Classic Tents, Inc.
