Books by Mail Service for the Homebound

October 1 Changes
Colleen Smith

The Lake County Library System Books by Mail program, a home delivery service, will be changing October 1, 2009. The service will now be available only to those who are unable to travel to the library due to a disability. Books by Mail enables patrons to receive books and audio books via the U.S. Mail with postage paid. Persons who would otherwise not be able to visit the local library can enjoy the world of information, ideas and imagination at home!

You must have a library card in good standing from one of the Lake County Library System Member or Branch Libraries or be a Reciprocal Borrower from the Osceola County Library System or Polk County Library Cooperative to apply. The application for patrons with disabilities can be found online at: www.mylakelibrary.org or requested by calling 352-253-6163. Please fill out the application, have it signed by a physician, nurse or social worker, and return to Books by Mail by fax to 352-253-6184 or mail to 2401 Woodlea Road, Tavares, FL 32778.

Additional information can be found on the Lake County Library System website at www.mylakelibrary.org or by calling 352-253-6163.
