East Lake Happenings

East Lake Library's staff is recovering from another busy holiday. We had successful programs such as pumpkin decorating, ornament design and creating faux gingerbread houses. The staff did a great job preparing the community room for the holidays.  The room  and the library had a festive air.

We are now catching our breath before our next major event. On April 9, 2011 we are having our annual Bluegrass Festival again. It is East Lake's contribution to Lake County Library System's annual Festival of Reading. The Bluegrass Festival will be from 10 AM until 3 PM. There will be great music, thriller author H. Terrell Griffin, food, our Friends' Book/Bake Sale and other fun things. Look for more details as they become available.

We must begin the new year on a sad note. Our children's assistant, Mandy Skyles, has left the East Lake Library and will be sorely missed. She has moved to be closer to family. In the short time she handled children's programs she did a great job, including coming up with the afterschool science experiment program. We hope to have someone to replace her in the near future. Until further notice, we will not be havingThursday morning storytimes.

The East Lake Staff wishes all our patrons a Joyous and Happy New Year
