Events at the Tavares Library

Thursday, January 20 the Tavares High School Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Jeremy Langford will perform at 7 p.m. in the Tavares Civic Center. Congratulations to the Tavares Marching Band for earning Straight Superior Ratings. Their performance at Leesburg High School dazzled and delighted the audience with the sights and sounds of the Circus with a performance of “With All Your Might!”. These young musicians strive for their best, each and every time they step on a field, stage and performance venue!

Friday, February 11 at 7 p.m. jazz musician, Shenole Latimer, will perform a program titled Our Music, Our Culture. The program is a multi-media journey through the history of jazz from the early 1900’s to today. The struggles of artists such as Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker & John Coltrane will be explored via slides, classic jazz recordings and live music performances by Mr. Latimer.

Sunday, February 20 at 3 p.m. in the Tavares Civic Center, the City of Tavares Friends of the Library will host A Ladies Tea, Sharing a Cup of Tea With You presented by Laurie Nienhaus.  Miss Atrocious Manners offers a wildly amusing look at etiquette and what one should not do at tea.
