Did you get an eReader for Christmas?

Downloadable eBooks available through your library
Charlene P. Smith

The Lake County Library System has been providing downloadable eBooks since August, 2011.  Currently our eBooks have been checked out and downloaded approximately 15,000 times by Lake County patrons.   Our Overdrive website includes Help screens on the needed software, and how to dowlnoad the books.  Our libraries are continuing to add new titles and additional items.

Patrons can check out, download, and place holds on downloadable eBooks.  This service does require a Lake County Library System library card.   Once the checkout period has expired, items are automatically returned, so no fines are ever charged.

Patrons can download to PCs, MACs, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and dedicated ereaders, including Kindle.  We have ePub, PDF, and Kindle format for adults, young adults, and juveniles.  To checkout and download an eBook or review the Help information, go to
