The Garden Bower

Festival of Reading

The 2012 Festival of Reading marketing campaign includes an in-library promotion featuring a beautiful garden bower. Gardens evoke peace and tranquility, a refuge from modern life. How better to enjoy your garden than settling down with a good book... contemplating words and meaning, letting your imagination run free. The Garden Bowers at each participating library may be created by community garden clubs, Friends of the Library or library staff.

You be the judge! Visit the library between March 1st and the 31st and cast a vote. Bring your camera and take a family photo. Email us your favorite and we will place it in our photo gallery to highlight the unique designs in each library location. The Garden Bowers will be judged in three categories: 1) Most original 2) Best use of color 3) Best promotion of theme. The awards will take place during the Festival of Reading. The plaques will be permanently displayed in the winning library.

Watch for the latest news on the Festival of Reading including writing workshops and author events and garden programs in our libraries and the Author Reception with the hugely successful Silent Auction in the new Lady Lake Public Library.
