Rosa Rosario is a professional librarian with an MS in Library Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico and a MA in Educational Technology from Bridgeport University, Bridgeport, Connecticut. She has been a Library Director in academic libraries for 25 years, including working as a Dean of Students Affairs at a Medical School and a Reference Librarian at the City of Tavares Public Library for seven years. Rosa has a strong educational background and many years of experience in library administration, supervising and leading staff, reference, research, database, library instruction, collection development, customer service, acquisitions, circulation, interlibrary loan and working with Dewey Decimal Classification System, Library of Congress and National Library of Medicine Classification System; subject headings with Library of Congress, MESH (Medical Subject Headings) and Spanish Subject Headings. She has the ability and experience of working independently and as a part of a team. She worked with the accreditation process of public and private libraries; Puerto Rico Council of Higher Education, Nursing Schools, Puerto Rico Medical Board and the Liaison Committee of Medical Education.
Rosa has enjoyed working with the City of Tavares and with the Lake County Library System staff. She states that being in charge of the Adult Literacy Program in Tavares has been very rewarding especially helping adults to learn the language and the American culture, obtain their citizenship or GED so they can go to college. At the City of Tavares Public Library everyone is very proud of their patrons and their goal is to ensure strong customer service and customer satisfaction.
