The Man with the Fish on His Foot

Bob Morris

On Tuesday, March 12th award winning author Bob Morris will be featured in an event to honor the 15 Friends of the Library groups.  The Leesburg Public Library will host this ticketed event.

Bob Morris is the author of the Zack Chasteen series of mysteries set in Florida and the Caribbean, along with numerous non fiction books and original e-books. He contributes to a number of travel and food magazines including Islands, Caribbean Travel & Life, National Geographic Traveler, Virtuoso Life, Bon Appetit, Harbor Style and Edible Orlando. A fourth-generation Floridian, Bob lives in Winter Park where he teaches creative writing at Rollins College. He is also founder and president of Story Farm, a custom publishing company.

Bob’s travels have inspired his series of mystery novels from St. Martin’s Press, each of which takes place on a different Caribbean island. Bob is a former columnist for the Orlando Sentinel, Fort Myers News Press, and The New York Times regional newspapers, served as editor of Caribbean Travel & Life and Gulfshore Life magazines. Bahamarama, was released to wide acclaim and was a finalist for the 2004 Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Mystery Novel and chosen by the Library Journal as one the year’s Top Five Mysteries. Morris’s second novel, Jamaica Me Dead, was a BookSense Pick by the American Booksellers Association. Bermuda Schwartz won a 2007 Florida Book Award, a Bronze Medal for Popular Fiction.

 Bob will tell tales from The Man With the Fish on His Foot.  In this collection of 25 stories, Morris gives readers his twisted take on everything from the dangers of beach-walking and the joys of sweat to the thrill of landing a tarpon and the agonies of boat lust. Carl Hiaasen, a man who should know, says: “Bob Morris is my favorite writer about all things Florida. He makes me laugh until my teeth hurt.” And Dave Barry says: “Bob Morris is funny as hell.”

Bob is also the author of several collections of nonfiction, including Gut Check, Short Road to Hell, All Over the Map, and The Whole Shebang.
