Lake County Welcomes Paul Alford

Paul Alford comes to us from the Hernando County Public Library System where he served for 1.5 years originally as the Branch Services Coordinator and more recently as the Library Experience Coordinator. Previous to that he served initially as a Branch Manager and Learning Services Coordinator in the Citrus County Library System. He has been both a participant and later a mentor in the Sunshine State Library Leadership Institute. He has been involved in several member groups and committees within the Florida Library Association, and will serve on the FLA Executive Board from 2013-2015.

Originally from the Midwest, Paul’s educational experience includes the University of Tennessee (MLS) and Indiana University (M.Ed.) He has worked in public, academic, and special library settings along with database administration, teaching, training and instructional design.

Married to a Florida native, he has little choice but to live in Florida but fortunately loves being here. When he isn’t beating one of his five children with a wooden sword (practicing the art of Kumdo), he enjoys reading, tennis, exploring tech trends, frisbee, running, surfing, and the gracefulness of the aging process.
