Rachel Montgomery is a recent Hoosier transplant, coming to us from Indianapolis, Indiana: home of the Indy 500, sports fanatics, and freezing winters. She worked as a Teen Librarian for Mooresville Public Library in Mooresville, Indiana where she spent most of her time planning and presenting teen programs, devising better ways to get people interested in great books, and filming video blogs about the library as one half of Meg-A-Rae.
Rachel received her Master’s in Library Science from Indiana University and her B.A. from Indiana Wesleyan University. She worked for a number of years in the health care industry as an editor and print coordinator before discovering her calling as a librarian (something that should have been obvious, but took her a number of years to figure out).
In her spare time, Rachel reads (a LOT); enjoys all things British, namely tea and Doctor Who; and exploring sunny Florida. She’s very excited to join the 'headquarters' staff in Tavares and looks forward to working with the Lake County libraries — and to never see another snowflake again.
