Astor Library Wins Display Award

Katherine Spurgeon

Staff members Margee Unger, Becky Gullion, and Katherine Spurgeon pose beside the display that won the Best Promotion of Theme for the 2014 BookFest. The Delicious Reads Diner table was set with a colorful gingham tablecloth, event placemats, red Coke glasses and red roses for a touch of elegance. Posters advertising the upcoming Bookfest and local events decorated the back of the table. The Rock ‘n Roll juke box just behind the table added to the '50s diner theme.  The award was presented at the Friends of the Library Tea, and the plaque is now proudly displayed at the library.

The library was honored to host 2 authors for this year's event: Christopher Tozier presented a writer's workshop, and Dr. James C. Clark entertained his audience with tales of Presidents in Florida from his book by the same name.
