Welcome Marsha Brinson, the new director at the Lady Lake Public Library. She previously served as Youth Services Supervisor at the Leesburg Public library, and Branch Manager at the Belvedere Library in Sumter County for ten years.
As a Children’s Librarian in South Florida Marsha developed many programs including Lapsit story times for babies, mother-daughter book discussion groups. She also coordinated teen volunteers for the Summer Reading Program.
Marsha is proud of her years as the Supervisor of the Belvedere Library for the Sumter County Library System. She opened the library in 2005 and helped to create a friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. While there she developed many programs for youth and adults including, children’s storytimes, teen programs and book discussion groups for adults. She coordinated volunteers and worked closely with the Friends organization.
She has a passion for books and literacy. Her favorite part of the day is helping with reader’s advisory. Finding just the right book for a patron and then hearing about how much they loved it is truly rewarding to her. Before moving to Lady Lake, she worked at libraries in South Florida, Massachusetts, and was a high school English teacher. She lives in Lady Lake with her husband John.
