Second Annual Local Authors Showcase
The Second Annual Local Authors’ Showcase will be held in the Leesburg Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 13th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year authors and books in the inspirational literature genre will be featured.
Third Annual Trash to Fashion Contest
In celebration of American Library Association's Teen Read Week, everyone ages 8 to 19 is encouraged to enter Lake County Library System's third annual Trash to Fashion Contest which will be held Saturday, October 20, at Leesburg Public Library beginning at 11 a.m. Individual designers (or teams of designers) need to send in one entry form for a recycled creation in order to receive an invitation to participate in this free contest.
Tim Dorsey - When Elves Attack
Lake County Library System is honored to present nationally best-selling author Tim Dorsey on Thursday, December 6, 3:30 p.m. in the W.T. Bland Public Library. For all fans of Tim Dorsey, When Elves Attack, is a new take on the Christmas spirit. It’s ho, ho, ho time in this hilarious and wacky Florida holiday tale.
Lake County Celebrates Viva Florida 500
In 2013, the Lake County Library System’s 10th annual Lake BookFest (formerly the Festival of Reading), will embrace Viva Florida, a State initiative that commemorates 500 years of Florida's rich heritage and diverse cultural history. Viva Libros! will take place from March 11th through the 16th, 2013 and will feature events different cultures and their impact on the history of Florida.
Writing Workshops in the Leesburg Library
Aspiring writers are invited to attend two free sessions at the Leesburg Public Library on Saturday, December 1st. Sessions begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
