  •  Beginning Belly Dancing classes will be held at the Leesburg Public Library on Wednesday, September 17th. Taught by professional belly dancer Maria from GimmeShimmy.com. All are welcome to class regardless of fitness level or ability. Belly Dancing for Adults will be at 11:00am. Belly Dancing for Teens will be at 4:00pm.

  • The History of Doctor Who at the Leesburg Public Library
    Doctor Who fans are invited to a special presentation on the history of televisions longest-running Science Fiction show on Wednesday, September 24th at 4:00 p.m. at the Leesburg Public Library. Whether you are new to Who or a classic fan, this program will entertain and educate on the BBC’s favorite time traveler. Trace the evolution of the Doctor, his companions, and some of his most famous villains. Costumes are welcome. This program is part of the Leesburg Public Library’s Fanime Club, which features fandom and anime programs the last Wednesday of each month at 4:00pm.

  • We Got the Water: A Holocaust Remembrance
    Mr. Gene Klein will discuss his family's harrowing trials in the Holocaust as detailed in the book “We Got the Water.” Klein’s family was sent from Hungary on one of the first trains to Auschwitz.   • Veterans Suicide Awareness Presentation at the Library
    September is National Suicide Awareness month. The Orlando VA Medical Center will make a presentation on Operation S.A.V.E. at the Leesburg Public Library on Tuesday, September 23, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Operation Save is a training module that familiarizes the audience with many aspects of suicide including terminology, statistics, myths, prevention tools and an overall awareness of suicide and everyone’s role in prevention.
