  • Author Visit with Dr. R. W. Stone
    Family Event-All Ages on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m.
    The author R. W. Stone is doing a book talk at the Marion Bayinger Memorial County Library on April 10 at 6 p.m.  The author is currently a practicing veterinarian in Central Florida where he lives with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid horseman, master ranked martial artist and firearms enthusiast.

    Stone began writing westerns as an adult to recapture some of the fun and excitement of a childhood spent horseback riding and target shooting. Trail Hand was his first novel and was on Amazon's top 100 western's list for almost two years. His second western Back With a Vengeance is currently available from PublishAmerica.com and on Amazon. Dr. R. Stone also has a family Christmas book from Publish America.com called A Very Shiny Nose.  All of these titles are in the Lake County Library System catalog and are available for checkout or to be placed on hold.  He can be reached at Vettcenter0001@aol.com.

General Program Offerings

Adult Literacy Tutoring

The Library along with the Lake County Adult Literacy Program provides free ESoL tutoring in individual tutoring sessions and classroom sessions. Ask at the library for more infromation.

The Adult Literacy Program designed to provide literacy services to adults who speak English but may need help to improve their reading or writing skills as well as adults who need tutoring in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESoL).  The tutors and adult learners meet weekly at their local library or other community-based location and have access to student workbooks; adult literacy materials; a computer-based literacy lab; and other library resources.
