This year, we’re throwing the ultimate BookFest Party - and you’re invited. The W. T. Bland Public Library will host the opening of Delicious Reads, the 2014 Lake BookFest tonight, monday, March 10 at 6 p.m. Special guest, best-selling author Lisa Black will provide a glimpse into the world of forensic science and the characters who inhabit that world. “Devilishly clever blind alleys and red herrings” Publishers Weekly describes her latest The Price of Innocence. Members of the Mystery Writers’ of America, Florida Chapter will also be on hand to share a wide variety of crime and mystery fiction stories.
Bite size desserts will be provided by the Mount Dora High School Culinary Department under the direction of Chef Carol Hass and Chef Tim Hobbs with the support of Chefs Helping Chefs and the American Culinary Federation, Gulf to Lakes Chapter. The program will include 50’s rock by Captain Harry, a singer-guitarist-songwriter from South Florida who has recorded and toured with hundreds of artists all over the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. His music is a rich blend of rock, soul, jazz, and reggae. This year we will bestow upon 4 library staff the coveted title of Best Book Bytes Recipes. Pick up a copy!
All BookFest events are free. Books will be available for purchase from Raintree Books. For a complete schedule go to the Lake County Library System website: http://www.mylakelibrary.org/festival_of_reading/2014/calendar.aspx
