Fizz, Boom, Read!

All children are invited to join Lake County Library System’s Summer Reading Program and attend free activities and events that are exciting and fun! This summer’s theme, Fizz, Boom, Read explores a wide variety of topics with a focus on science. Programs feature reading incentive games, special presenters, storytimes, and interactive experiences galore.

Come to the library and explore the magical world of science this summer with hands-on experiments, robot building, Grossology fun, nature explorations and much more. Each library will offer a different series. Check the schedule to find the library with Star Wars Science fiction events, hands-on science experiments such as owl pellet dissection or Mad Science Kinetic Kylie’s Hovercraft. In another, meet a fish that swims through air or learn about different animals found in Florida backyards … snakes, turtles, lizards and some of the furry kind, too!

Young people who participate in summer library programs keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. Your librarian will be happy to help you find books that are just right for your child to discover all the treasures the library has to offer. Participants can even earn cool incentives by keeping track of the time spent reading this June and July.

To discover how you can join in the summer fun, stop in at a Lake County Library System library nearest you for a schedule or use the Lake County Library System’s website at Remember, public library programs are free of charge.
