Call for Entries for Young Adult Authors’ Showcase

The Leesburg Public Library has issued a call for entries to the fourth annual program celebrating local authors of young adult fiction and their books. The Local Authors’ Showcase will be held in the Leesburg Public Library on Saturday, October 11th from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The goal of this unique event is to bring exposure to local talent and nurture the pursuit of the writing arts in Central Florida. We encourage participating authors to share ideas and insight on writing and publishing with the community.

Young Adult literature is written for a teenaged audience. The main characters are young adults who drive the action and whose stories deal with coming of age issues and other universal conflicts. The exhibit is open to any YA author, published or self-published.

Authors are required to have books available for purchase and signing. The library will be offering incentives for anyone attending the program and visiting the author’s tables.

The Showcase is limited to 20 authors and the deadline for entry is August 6, 2014 or until the roster is filled. To enter, email or call 352-728-9790.
