East Lake Happenings

East Lake Library is in the middle of our Summer Reading Program. Come and check out some kids books or young adult books to help us reach our 5,000 goal.

A few months ago East lake Library went through some cosmetic changes that helped increase our shelving. Through the use of shelving obtained from the closing of the Law Library in Tavares the staff had the hardware to add another complete range in the library.

Through a lot of muscle, time and sweat the staff removed books off of the shelves and moved the pre-existing shelving closer. It was carefully moved so as to adhere to the American Disabilities Act in regards to distance between shelves. It was a time consuming task that took over a month. We now have more room for books and audios. It has allowed us to expand out Young Adult section as well as all other areas of the library's collections. There is still more room to add some more shelving but that will be done over time.

We made these improvements to utilize all available space in the library, expand collections and enhance our collections. We hope you visit us and enjoy the new library set-up. We look forward to serving you to the best of our abilities.
