The Fruitland Park Library now has over thirteen computers available and is a wi-fi hotspot! The 35,000+ items in the library consist of books, magazines, DVDs, videos, audio books, and CDs. All are available for check-out. As a member of the Lake County Library System, materials located countywide can be delivered to our library for your convenience or mailed to your door if you are disabled. Our Friends of the Library is a group of individuals who meet on the second Monday of the month (September-May) at 2:00 p.m. They raise needed funds to augment both children’s and adult’s educational and cultural programs.
The library has programs for adults and children. For adults, computer classes are available every other Monday evening from 5:30-6:30p.m. These are basic classes on internet and Microsoft Word use. Please call the library for dates and to register. The Bridge Club meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 - 2:00p.m.
For children we have Krafty Kids which meets the second Wednesday of the month at 3:30 pm. Children (K5-5th) are invited to make craft. This program is free and registration is required. The Chess Club: meets the third Saturday of the month at 10:00a.m. Ages 8 and up are welcome.
Thursday, March 18th - 5 p.m. Fruitland Park will offer a very special event for the Festival of Reading. Author Jeffery Lamb, with cast and crew from the movie The Old Livingston House will talk about taking the novel to the silver screen. There will be a grand prize drawing for a chance to have a “walk-on appearance” in the movie. Mr. Lamb was born and currently lives in Central Florida with his wife Sherri. He has a true passion for the sunshine state and it's mix of interesting people. His sense of humor is his favorite asset. It has been described as brilliant to aggravating and that's just by his wife.
