“Mystery and Mayhem” Bookmark Design Contest

Mysterious adventures from the classics to the paranormal
Thom Mazak

The Lake County Library System is proud to announce the 12th annual Bookmark Design Contest for Lake County K-12 students and adults. This year’s theme is “Mystery and Mayhem” to compliment the theme of our Festival of Reading. Each contest entry should illustrate a mysterious adventure from the classics to the paranormal.

The winning artists will be announced and honored on April 2, 2010 at a special YA Festival of Reading event in the Leesburg Public Library. The winning bookmark designs will then be available at all 15 libraries in the Lake County Library System, and will be printable from the library system’s web site. From April 6th through the 9th our community will be discovering new mysteries and rediscovering compelling classics. Writing workshops and author events will be featured and Friday evening we will host a gala reception for all of our authors at the newly renovated Mount Dora Community Building.

Entry forms and guidelines may be found on the website or picked up at any of the following library locations: Astor Library, Baysinger Memorial Library (Groveland), Cagan Crossings Community Library (Four Corners area), Cooper Memorial Library (Clermont), East Lake Library (Sorrento), Fruitland Park Library, Helen Lehmann Memorial Library (Montverde), Lady Lake Public Library, Leesburg Public Library, Marianne Beck Memorial Library (Howey-in-the-Hills), Minneola Schoolhouse Library, Paisley Library, Tavares Public Library, Umatilla Public Library, and W.
