Celebrate Music @ the Leesburg Public Library

Carol Anderson

This winter season you are invited to come to the Leesburg Public Library to celebrate music! Four separate musical events will be sponsored by our Friends of the Leesburg Library. On Saturday, January 15th at 2:00 pm, the Langejans vocal/instrumental group, Set Free Music Ministries, will perform traditional church music, southern gospel, and contemporary praise and worship selections.
Come clap your hands and tap your feet along with the October Mountain Washtub Band as they perform bluegrass and classic country, patriotic, gospel, and pop music along with many of your old favorites on Saturday, January 29th at 2:00 pm. Arrive early – the seats always fill quickly for this popular group!
A family-oriented concert of traditional American folksongs will be presented by folk singer and storyteller Adam Miller in “Singing through History” at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 5th. All ages are welcome.
The series will conclude with well-known classical guitarist, Peter Fletcher, as he returns to Leesburg for the fifth time to perform selections of new music and standard classical pieces. We can say we “knew him when,” because Fletcher first performed at the old Leesburg Public Library just prior to his first appearance at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York! Peter Fletcher will be performing on Tuesday, February 8th at 6:30 pm.
All events are free and will be held at the Leesburg Public Library, 100 East Main Street, Leesburg, FL. For more information, you are invited to call (352) 728-9790 or e-mail
