The Lake County Library System has issued a call for entries to its annual program celebrating local authors and their books. The first annual Local Authors’ Showcase will be held in the Leesburg Public Library on Saturday, October 15th from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Because the amount of talent in the community is astounding, our goal is to bring exposure to local talent and nurture the pursuit of the writing arts in Central Florida. We encourage participating authors to share ideas and insight with the community.
The exhibit is open to any author, published, self-published and independent publisher non-fiction, fiction, children’s books, teenage, how-to, audio/spoken word, comics, e-books and poetry. The Showcase is limited to 30 authors and the deadline for entry is August 1, 2011.
To enter, email Carol.Anderson@leesburgflorida.gov or call 352-728-9790 and be prepared to provide a short biography and description of the current title. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by letter or email.
