Adult programs coming to the library
Katherine Spurgeon

The Marion Baysinger library will be offering three special adult programs in January and March.  At 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 21st, the Friends of the Library will sponsor a program by local artist Judi Mattison.  Judi has titled her program "Best kept secrets of how to be an artist".   She is well known to library patrons who visit Marion Baysinger and enjoy several of her paintings that are permanently displayed at the circulation desk.

The library will also be participating in the annual Festival of Reading which will be held the week of March 26th by hosting 2 speakers.  The theme of this year's Festival is "In the Garden".  At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28th, Julie England will be featured with her program titled "Cooking with Herbs".  Julie is an Extension Agent specializing in educational programming in health and nutrition.

We will conclude our quarterly adult programs at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29th, with a program by Wendy Poag (pictured).  Wendy is a naturalist/land steward with Lake County Parks and Trails.  She will be talking about the subtle beauty of the Florida scrub and will be sharing pictures of the captivating yet underappreciated flora of the scrub environment.

Both of the Festival programs will be co-hosted by the library and the Friends of the Library.
