Local Authors Showcase

Call for Entries

The Leesburg Public Library has issued a call for entries to the second annual program celebrating local authors and their books. The Local Authors’ Showcase will be held in the Leesburg Public Library on Saturday, October 13th from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Because of the amount of talent in the community staff has elected to feature authors and books in the inspirational literature genre. Inspirational fiction and nonfiction books may describe a belief system, or tell an inspiring story or answer questions about spiritual matters. Our goal remains, to bring exposure to local talent and nurture the pursuit of the writing arts in Central Florida. We encourage participating authors to share ideas and insight on writing and publishing with the community.

The exhibit is open to any author, published, self-published and independent publisher. Featured books should be wholesome and reflect strong moral values in overcoming adversity, may or may not include a religious slant, and may also include guidelines for self-improvement.

The Showcase is limited to 25 authors and the deadline for entry is August 1, 2012. To enter, email Carol.Anderson@leesburgflorida.gov or call 352-728-9790.

Authors are encouraged to have books available for purchase and signing. The library will be offering incentives for anyone attending the program and visiting the author’s tables.
