Fruitland Park Sizzling Summer

The Fruitland Park Library is sizzling this summer with great reads and fun things to do. The Summer Reading Program is in full swing, but it’s not too late to join in the fun. Come to the Casino Community Building, 604 W. Berckman Street, Fruitland Park, on Tuesday’s mornings at 10:00 a.m. to see wonderful performers like Katie Adams’ and Her Pirate Tales on July 9th, Finn & Fiona with their tales of Celtic Adventures on July 16th and Swamp Girl with her reptile friends on July 23rd.

Summer Afternoon Family Movies continue each Friday at the library at 2:00 p.m. Please stop by the library or call for the movie schedule.
Wii Play Games @ the Fruitland Park Library continue to be very popular. Stop by on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 3:00 p.m. to play your favorite game.

Lego Club welcomes everyone from ages 3 to 12 on Monday and Friday mornings starting at 10:30 a.m. Chess Club meets on Monday and Wednesday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. Ages 8 and up.

Groundbreaking Summer Reads for adults at the Fruitland Park Library begins Monday, August 5th through Monday, August 26th. The selected book is Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. Special guests are to include Julie England, from the University of Florida IFSA Extension Office on August 12th. Her program, “Groundbreaking Vegetables” will have us learn more about the variety of nutritious root vegetables and how to include them in your everyday meals. On August 19th, Brooke Moffis, from the same agency, will talk to us about composting and its benefits.
