Oh, the things that have happened so far this summer at the Marion Baysinger Memorial Library! Kids built rainbows in jars, launched amazing fizzy rockets AND got slimed!!! Kids have also enjoyed looking at all kinds of crazy slides under a microscope. Staff is creating great thinkers with our Science iPad Class and every Tuesday we find out “What Makes them Tick?”
Scott Humston put on an amazing show and taught us that “the more we know the more we grow”! Mad Science made pennies dance and showed us how to create a low pressure system right before our eyes! Readers of all ages will continue to explore science in a big way this summer at Marion Baysinger Memorial Library’s’ “Fizz, Boom, Read!” summer program.
The 2014 Summer Reading Program is open to children K through 5th grade, with programs on space, experiments and electricity along with weekly prizes, story hours, crafts, and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program. Read and complete weekly challenges for a chance at the Golden Ticket and an invitation to an end of the summer reading party! Registration for “Fizz, Boom, Read!” began on June 2nd.
Activities include special guest shows like Zoo Mom Science, Talako Indian Dancers, Big Idea Balloons and Magician Todd Kay all on Thursdays at 2 p.m. in the Mascotte Civic Center in Mascotte. Also, come enjoy Tuesday Family Movie Days at 3:30 p.m. at the library. Visit the library for movie listings and dates.
