Murder, Mystery and Mayhem Schedule Announced
There is nothing more exciting than a good mystery, which is why 90,922 mystery books circulated in Lake County in 2009/10. We explore hidden paths, or explore the unknown, until we discover the truth. The 2011 Festival of Reading is for lovers of mystery, crime, thriller, spy, and suspense books.
Hallie Ephron to Appear On April 6, 2011
Hallie Ephron's newest novel is a gripping psychological suspense. Never Tell a Lie is in production as a movie for Lifetime/TV.
Jon Jefferson will Appear April 8 and 9, 2011
At the "Body Farm," nature takes its course, with corpses buried in shallow graves, submerged in water, concealed beneath slabs of concrete, locked in trunks of cars. As stand-ins for murder victims, they serve the needs of science -- and the cause of justice.
Donations Sought for Festival Auction
The award winning Festival of Reading will include a silent auction at the annual Authors’ Reception, “Dying to Meet You”. Donations are being sought for the auction which benefits library programs. Gift baskets, certificates for products or services or items are welcome! A significant reward package is offered to our valued donors. Each will be included in the Festival program, on event signage and on the library website: www.mylakelibrary.org.
Cooper Memorial Library welcomes new Regional Branch Manager
Cooper Library staff is happy to welcome Boyd Bruce as the new Regional Branch Manager.
Square Foot Gardening Class @ the Library
A Square Foot Gardening class will be offered at the W.T. Bland Public Library, January 28th at noon; Paisley County Library, February 15th at 11 a.m.; and Minneola Schoolhouse Library March 5th at 10 a.m. The class being offered is a one hour long introduction to All New Square Foot Gardening.

Florida Library Snapshot Day
The Lake County Library System will be participating in “Snapshot: A Day in the Life of Florida Libraries” during the week of January 25, 2011. This state-wide project will illustrate the importance of libraries for Florida’s citizens through collection of statistics, stories and photographs.
